These units give the Honda bikes the sound and performance they were meant to have. We take the factory muffler, remove the heat shield, open them up and remove the entire contents.
Then we weld in a custom designed collector and length of heavy gauge pipe. All pipes sold exchange are rechromed and are priced in the "new chrome" columns. You end up with the factory look and after market performance and sound. If we don't currently have stock or you prefer to use your mufflers, pack up your mufflers carefully and call us. We will have UPS email you a call tag. Attach tag and drop package anywhere that ships UPS.
New systems generally ship the same day they are ordered. Reworked systems usually are turned around the same day they are received. Prices cover both directions and insurance. Boxes over " in length and girth will be charged oversize rates by UPS and we will pass those costs to you. Our box size for dual mufflers is 36"X16"x8", for single exhaust our box size is 44"X10"X10". As you can see these boxes add up to 84" combined length and girth, you've 20" more to play with when making a box to ship.

I called Bill Fynbo and asked him several questions about his exhaust modification. Bill was patient and courteous, and answered all my questions in a professional and knowledgeable way. They delivered as promised. My exhaust had been modified once before by the previous owner.
Bill pointed out what had to be done to get it back into shape. The product I got back a few days later was just as advertised and at the price promised. The fit was perfect, I had no trouble mounting it. The chrome was excellent. I can attest to the fact that Bill's modifications increase horsepower and performance - especially at highway speeds.
If you're into better sound, this modification is great. If you're old enough to remember the sound of an Offenhauser racing engine in a midget or sprint car, you'll know what I mean. Your neighbors will know when you leaving and when you're back. So will the traffic on the streets. I have no hesitation giving them my highest endorsement.

I called to check availability and get a price match. I purchased them on a Monday — they shipped that same day and arrived in CT on Wednesday — very quick shipping! They were superbly packaged — the mufflers themselves are in bubble wrap, in a box, which is in a box, which is in a box! Everything arrived in perfect condition.
I started installation on Saturday morning. Complete install start to finish took just over three hours. I worked slow are carefully to make sure I didn't screw anything up! The first step involved relocating the ignition switch. To do so, you have to remove the seat, left side cover, and water pump cover. Here it is all removed:. Next, you remount the ignition switch using the clutch cable mounting bracket bolt and a new bracket. Then run the supplied extension wires, and replace the water pump cover.
Next, disconnect the right side floorboard assembly, and remove the stock exhaust. The next steps involve attaching the two head pipes and collector, then the right and left mufflers. Everything is left loose at this point. In the background, you can see my girlfriends's Kawasaki Vulcan Classic. It's a pretty nice bike - low seat height, lighter than the VTX, and fuel injected to boot!
Once everything seems aligned correctly, you tighten down the head pipes and start attaching the heat shields. They slip inside the mufflers, so tightening the mufflers is the last step. A level and a tape measure come in real handy to get the properly aligned to match each other. Once you're done and reassemble the bike, it looks like below.
The last two pictures show the kickstand up - it can be reached with the heel of your foot, but just barely. I had bought a Harley Jiffy stand extension as recommended by another poster prior to beginning, but the kickstand isn't long enough for the extension to wrap around the pipe, leaving it hanging it the middle of nowhere. It doesn't look good, so I'm leaving it off. I found that it still ended up touching the heatshield, so I spaced it even further out with a few stainless steel washers from the hardware store.
I'll probably be buying new floorboards soon - the new pipes seem to cause more vibration in them, so I'm hoping some better boards will dampen that. Besides, who can't use more chrome? I'm considering the Rivco boards to match my passenger boards. Of course, the real fun is starting it up for the first time. I really had no idea what to expect, and was fearing something too loud that would piss off all my neighbors.
I'm pleased to say they have a nice deep throaty rumble when idling, but nothing too loud. They bark pretty well when you really get into them, but it'd be easy to sneak out of the neighborhood in the morning without waking everyone around. After cleaning up, we went for a 20 mile or so ride - they sounded great. The only issue I'm having is some fairly significant backfiring on a hard decel.
I have re-torqued the acorn nuts, but still have a tiny leak on the rear cylinder - I suspect this is the cause. I did use new crush gaskets - so I'm anticipating having to replace them again, and try to twist and shift everything around to get the rear head pipe to seal better - a job I'm not looking forward to.
If anyone has any other ideas on this backfiring, I'd love to hear it.Not that I liked the stock sound, in fact I didn't care for it at all. My riding style leans more to the long ride and after a long day, I really don't want to be deaf.
I just don't want my exhaust to be too loud or obnoxious and being content with the performance, I didn't want to tinker with a fuel management system all the time to keep it running properly. In this 35, miles with the stock exhaust I had many opportunities to hear the rumble of different brands. I don't like the hollow or tiney sound that some pipes offer, I prefer deep rumble.
A quiet and deep rumble so as not to be obnoxious but when I open it up, let the bad boy make some noise. I like the looks of the stock system and I found the sound of the Roadhouse Slip On to be the best deep low rumble around. It seemed a perfect fit for me. The Roadhouse slip-on kit comes nicely packaged to prevent any shipping damage and includes everything necessary for installation. In addition to the slip-ons, the kit includes heat shields that cover the junction to the mufflers, a muffler bracket and assorted clamps and fasteners.
The craftsmanship is top quality with slick welds and a smooth chrome finish. Roadhouse guarantees their products against defects in material and construction for one year.
Honda VTX Exhaust
Replacing the stock units with the Roadhouse is a snap. It took about 15 minutes or so to remove the stock mufflers and another 15 or so to install slip-ons. The installation process itself is well detailed in the instructions. If you prefer, they also offer you the option to turn the tips out for the slash-cut look. The Roadhouse slip-ons not only improve the sound of the V-Twin, they are also 7.
I have not added a fuel management system and they didn't boost the power significantly. I did notice less low end torque and a bit more top end performance. Unfortunately, I do get some minor decel popping but it's tolerable. Overall, the Roadhouse slip-ons made a significant improvement in the way I feel about the bike. Instead of rolling along in near silence, the VTX now blends in with the big twin's rumbling around the boulevards everywhere.
